Introducing Matt
Matt is an attorney and a CPA by background. He earned his law degree at the University of Connecticut School of Law and completed executive education at Harvard Business School. Before founding Emerytus Law, he served as a Senior Partner at EY working as a global client service partner and practice leader, advising complex organizations where structure, risk, and accountability matter.
That background is directly beneficial to his clients. He helps people see the whole picture, legal, finance, and tax, in one integrated view. In straightforward matters, that means practical decisions that align cleanly across documents, entities, and ownership. In more sophisticated situations, it means he can scale the analysis and execution with the discipline of an attorney CPA in a field often dominated by lawyers without comparable financial and tax training.
Matt founded Emerytus Law to help people protect what they are building and make it last for the people they care about. He has a protector mentality shaped by his family story, first generation Italian on his father’s side, rooted in public service on my mother’s side, and grounded by being a father. He is also a black belt in Hapkido and has trained for 18 years, which reinforces how he shows up professionally: prepared, steady, and focused on helping clients avoid preventable risk before it becomes expensive.
